2022 western region - local seminar

A Local Seminar is a more in-depth Basic 5 presentation that lasts six to eight hours and features a Guest Speaker who is an approved Speaker’s Bureau Category II member. Only approved Speaker’s Bureau Category II members can be featured speakers at a Local Seminar.  At Local Seminars, Distributors and UnFranchise® Owners are taught additional sales techniques and organizational-building techniques from some of the invited Guest Distributors in the respective area. Product Trainings can be included in this event as well as informational segments devoted to the various stores within Market America’s Mall Without Walls®. This event also recognizes area Distributors and UnFranchise Owners who have achieved new Pin Levels and UFO qualification or requalification, or have achieved outstanding retailing or recruiting accomplishments or other related success.

SPEAKER PROFILE - stephanie & richard ng

My husband Richard came to the conclusion that he would rather be controlled by the environment he creates than what others dictate. That was how we started our own traditional marble and granite business. During this time, we were also introduced to Market America. It was then that we were presented with the concept of ongoing income. Richard was very attracted to the business model, and the direction in which the company was heading. Richard went ahead and began our Market America journey in the hope that I would take over. Unfortunately, I was not interested. I was happy working for someone else, and was too arrogant to get involved. Richard went on to build both businesses.

I was a very non-supporting spouse and was not open-minded. As my career grew in the corporate world, I realized that I was not paid based upon my effort. I wanted more control of my income, as well as time. It was at that time I began to be a little more open-minded. With the exposure to Regional Convention, that helped me see the light, we began building the business together. Three-and-a-half years later, we met our first goal of Professional Coordinator.

Unfortunately, struggles in our first business kept us off course with our Market America business. Our lives were consumed with many challenges of keeping our traditional business from failing. Our Market America income kept us afloat, and our Market America family became our support, especially our senior mentors, Shu Yang and Catherine Ma. The Corporate Team sent Sam Pitts to work in the Dallas area, and he became the angel that got us back on our feet and believing in ourselves. Today, with most of our personal challenges in a more controllable state, we are back on track. As per our Market America goal, Richard sold his company in October 2009, and now we are truly enjoying every moment together and helping our Market America family.
